Why did my Cintas bill go up?
When two recurring invoices look almost identical, a higher total can come from several different changes. The fastest first step is not to decide whether the increase is justified. It is to identify exactly what changed.
Estimate the size of your bill increase

Annualized figures simply multiply the recurring difference by the selected billing frequency. They are estimates, not a prediction that the charge will remain unchanged.
1. Compare the printed invoice total
Start with the older and newer invoice totals. This tells you the size of the change but not the cause. If a weekly bill moves from $180 to $220, the annualized difference is roughly $2,080 if that difference continues for 52 weeks.
2. Check recurring unit prices
Look for the same material or recurring service line on both invoices. A small per-unit change can become meaningful when it repeats across many garments, mats, locations or service periods.
3. Check recurring fees separately
Service charges, environmental charges, fuel-related charges, delivery charges and other recurring fees can move independently of rental-item pricing. Treat them as separate comparison categories rather than mixing them into a single total.
4. Look for new or removed line items
A higher bill can come from a new recurring line, not just a price increase. Conversely, a removed line may offset another increase. Comparing normalized line items helps separate those effects.
5. Check quantity changes
If the quantity changes, the invoice total can rise even when unit prices remain unchanged. Quantity changes should be reviewed separately from price changes.
